Dijais and Jessica met while working together in the salon industry. Years later their dreams of owning their own salon came to fruition when they opened Magnolia Salon as co-owners. The name Magnolia stemmed from Jessica growing up near a Magnolia street in Texas and Dijais living off of Magnolia street while living in California.. and of course a homage to one of their favorite movies “Steel Magnolias”.  They are thrilled to be in their new location in Normal where they poured so much of themselves into every aspect of the space.

  In addition to Magnolia they just added their boutique, Sweetbay. The Sweetbay magnolia tree only blooms in May and June, Dijais and Jessica's birth months. They look forward to the fun shopping experience this extension of their business will bring to the community.

    Though very different in almost every way possible Dijais and Jessica shared a vision of what they wanted to create in a salon experience and what type of culture they wanted to cultivate. They often comment to one another how incredibly grateful they are to be able not only to own, but also work in a place and around people they genuinely enjoy interacting with. They hope that the second you walk into the salon to feel that same energy and feel part of the Magnolia family.
